THE CHURCH IS FACING A CULTURAL CRISIS
For almost 2,000 years, the Christian sense of beauty and creativity was guided to a higher purpose by Church teaching and tradition that encouraged individuals to seek out a deeper understanding of who we are and why we’re here. It was by these means that artists, innovators and creative thinkers built the very foundations of the universal Church.
In recent years, the Church’s voice has been diminished as a driving influence in the conversation around what constitutes beauty and creativity by the noise of secular humanism and the introduction of the avant-garde contemporary aesthetic built on controversial, abstract and revolutionary philosophies.
The Marian Institute (MI) exists to help raise awareness for the loss of a sense of beauty and artistic integrity in our society. Our mission is to encourage the development of a Cultural Renaissance around events and programs aimed at fostering cultural and social development through the arts.
